Bespoke – If you have a special occasion but are struggling to find something to wear, a bespoke piece may be the answer for you. Our specialist RE-STYLE tailors can design and create a one-of-a-kind garment or could replicate an item that you already own in a different colour way or fabric.

I have an item that is too short/long - How do I know what is the right length?
Shortening a hemline or sleeve is a simple job that our RE-STYLE tailors offer however, the price will depend on factors such as the fabric of the garment (as some fabrics will need to be stitched by hand) and whether or not your item is lined. It might be possible to lengthen an item but this depends on the hem allowance - your tailor will be able to help you with this during your appointment.
When shortening or lengthening a garment, it can sometimes be difficult to know what the right length is for you. Before your appointment, we recommend bringing another garment that you own, and like the length of, so that the tailor can measure this for you. With long trousers, dresses and skirts, it is also worth thinking about the type of shoe that you would like to pair the item with - if you are planning on wearing a shoe with a heel, we would recommend bringing the shoe with you to your appointment.
When shortening an item, we would recommend keeping a generous hem allowance in case you would like to lengthen the item again at a later date.
Can you alter a set of bridesmaid dresses?
Some of our RE-STYLE tailors are able to provide alterations or tailoring to a full set of bridesmaid dresses. A full list can be found on our bridal tailors page.
What happens if my item is beyond repair?
If your item is beyond repair, we suggest either looking into ways that it could be upcycled (some of our tailors can offer this service) or look into some of the many clothing and textile recycling services that are available in the UK.
You can find the nearest clothing and textiles bank to you via Recycle Now or can look into collection services with companies such as First Mile.

Services that we offer:
ALTERATIONS & TAILORING
We believe that improving the fit of your clothing can not only transform your wardrobe but also the way that you feel. The majority of clothing is made to fit a broad range of sizes meaning that we often neglect common fit issues - small and simple tweaks by our tailors can make a world of difference.
Our talented tailors can breathe new life into your garment by not only changing the size and shape, but also re-thinking new ways of wearing pieces that might have not been worn for a while. For example, long evening dresses could be modernised by being shortened or a pair of old trousers with a damaged hem could be re-imagined into a tailored pair of shorts.
At your appointment, you can try your item on and our RE-STYLE tailors can pin the item to show you the various ways for your item to be transformed.
REPAIRS
Clothing repairs are simple and will save you both time and money as it will reduce the need to buy more. It has been said that even by lengthening the life of our clothing for one to two more years, it can decrease the item’s carbon footprint by 24%.
Common repairs include replacing a zip or button, re-lining a coat or jacket, repairing moth damage or re-stitching a hem - all of which can be booked through RE-STYLE.
BESPOKE
If you have a special occasion but are struggling to find something to wear, a bespoke piece may be the answer for you. Our specialist RE-STYLE tailors can design and create a one-of-a-kind garment or could replicate an item that you already own in a different colour way or fabric.
